CR39 LENSES
These lenses, which are made from CR39 resin, are fitted free
to all our glasses in both single vision and bifocal vision. (except our
rimless glasses which have free polycarbon lenses). They are manufactured under
strict laboratory conditions and are scratch resistant with optimum optical
performance. CR39 is widely regarded in the optical industry as the best resin
available for standard lenses. They can be coated with Diamond Hard coating,
Hard Multi Anti Reflective (HMAR) coating and sunglass tints.

BI FOCAL LENSES
Bi-focal lenses offer the opportunity of wearing one pair of glasses suitable
for both near and distance vision. They are made in two elements: the top of
the lens is for near sightedness while the bifocal element in the bottom half
of the lens (or D section) is for far sightedness. The lower element of your
bifocal will be fixed at 2mm below the pupil distance; this measurement should
be suitable for everyone and is the industry standard measurement. Should you
require the bifocal element to be higher up the lens or lower down the lens
please indicate in the box provided. Bi-focal lenses are available in CR39,
which can have Diamond Hard coating ,HMAR coating or have added sunglass tints.
Polycarbon and transitions are also available.
DIAMOND HARD COATING
Diamond Hard Coating offers considerable increased resistance
to abrasions and scratching. There is a twin layered hard coating that is
individually applied to each lens. This coating can be used on standard CR39
lenses and in conjunction with sunglass tints.

HMAR COATING
HMAR stands for hard multi anti reflective. These lenses are
manufactured in a vacuum in which micro crystals are bombarded onto the surface
of the lens producing superb anti scratch, anti glare and hydrofolic qualities.
They also offer 100% ultra violet protection. These state of the art lenses are
suitable for night driving, VDU’s and sunny days. The coating is free on all
high index slim lenses.

SUNGLASS TINTS
Our sunglass tints are available in the regular sunglass
colours of: grey, grey/green and brown. They offer essential ultra violet
protection. They are available in 3 degrees of tint: Light, regular sunglass
tint and super dark tint. These tints can be used in conjunction with Diamond
Hard Coat.

POLYCARBON LENSES
Polycarbon lenses are very tough and are practically
indestructible. They were originally developed by NASA for the moon flights. As
well as their hardness, they are 20% lighter and thinner than CR39. They are
fitted free on all rimless models. A light sunglass tint can be applied to
these lenses

HMAR POLYCARBON LENSES.
These lenses offer the same outstanding qualities as HMAR
(anti-reflective with 100% ultra violet protection) but have the additional
benefit of being made from practically indestructible polycarbonate, plus HMAR.
They are 20% thinner than CR39 HMAR lenses.

TRANSITION LENSES.
Transition lenses alter the light transmission of the lens
according to the brightness of the surroundings. These lenses offer 100%
protection from ultra violet light and will change according to the conditions
from transmission of 89% of available light to your eye to as little as 15%
when exposed to very bright light. Lenses are available in a choice of grey or
brown tints. These lenses are virtually clear in appearance but offer full
protection when exposed to sunlight.

HMAR TRANSITION LENSES
These lenses offer full benefits of HMAR (anti-reflective
qualities with 100% ultra violet protection) together with the light variance
ability of a Transition lens.

HI INDEX THIN LENSES
High Index lenses are manufactured from denser acrylic modules.
This process results in a much slimmer lens than our CR39 lens. This slimness
creates a thinner edge to the lens and reduced the overall weight of the lens,
thus making them extremely comfortable. The 1.60 lens is approximately 20%
slimmer than CR39 the 1.67 lens is 34% slimmer and the 1.70 lens is 52%
slimmer. They are highly recommended for people who have a prescription for
higher powered lenses. All our High Index lenses come with Hard Multi Anti
Reflective coating with 100% ultra violet protection as standard. These lenses
are available for all models except rimless.
